CONTENT-BASED SECOND LANGUAGE TEACHING
Task-based language teaching TBLT , also known as task-based instruction TBI , focuses on the use of authentic language and on asking students to do meaningful tasks using the target language. Such tasks can include visiting a doctor, conducting an interview, or calling customer service for help. Assessment is primarily based on task outcome in other words the appropriate completion of real-world tasks rather than on accuracy of prescribed language forms. This makes TBLT especially popular for developing target language fluency and student confidence. Task-based language learning has its origins in communicative language teaching , and is a subcategory of it. Educators adopted task-based language learning for a variety of reasons. Some moved to task-based syllabus in an attempt to develop learner capacity to express meaning,  while others wanted to make language in the classroom truly communicative, rather than the pseudo-communication that results from classroom activities with no direct connection to real-life situations.

This study applied action research technique to conduct the research which is consisted of two cycles, with four meetings in each cycle; while each cycle consists planning, action, observation, and reflection. Learning and Teaching Languages Through Content
Content-based second language instruction is the essence of this article. Content-based instruction is a form of communicative language teaching in which language instruction is integrated with school or academic content instruction. Content-based approaches to second and foreign language teaching have in recent decades become increasingly prominent at all levels of schooling and in postsecondary education. In content-based instruction as in other experiential communicative language teaching approaches, the traditional second language instructional focus on raising learners' awareness of linguistic form is secondary to a focus on their learning and sharing of information through the medium of the second language, in a curriculum based on the language needed for learning the particular content. As content-based instruction evolves, there is, as well, increasing recognition of the need to draw learners' attention to formal properties of the language within communicative situations.
CBI is considered an empowering approach which encourages learners to learn a language by using it as a real means of communication from the very first day in class. Historically, the word content has changed its meaning in second language teaching. Content used to refer to the methods of grammar-translation , audio-lingual methodology , and vocabulary or sound patterns in dialog form. CBI is considered more a philosophy than a methodology. There is no single formula for this type of instruction but there are certain models of CBI which are used worldwide to achieve a holistic and global approach to foreign language learning.
Task-based language learning
Choosing good methods or techniques in teaching English is paramount for a language teacher. To some degree, Content-Based Instruction may give a room to the instructor to create such a conducive environment. It will be concerned with the steps of delivering the material, the problems and ways out of applying the technique, the atmosphere when the process of learning was going on, and the impression of the students toward the application of the technique.
