Events (2) Context: Cultural group updated to ‘Maragoli, Luhya’ and ‘Bantu Kavirondo’ was removed. Maragoli written on historic luggage tag label and is correct name of cultural group. Luhya is the larger cultural group of which Maragoli are a part. ‘Bantu Kavirondo’ is a colonial, historic term which is incorrect. Information provided by J.C.Niala, Horniman Museum and Gardens on 13/12/19 as part of research visit.
